Order & Shipping Policy

(1) Delivery time frame 

I post orders out once a week so please allow up to 2 weeks for delivery, unless otherwise specified at checkout.

Commissions will require longer to deliver depending on a number of factors such as; species of wood used, design and size. A delivery estimate for these will be given to you within 48 hours of your commission inquiry.

(2) Commissions

When a commission order is placed, Sloyd reserves the right to decline the commission for any reason whatsoever

Where an order is accepted by Sloyd but is then cancelled by the customer, Sloyd reserves the right to retain any deposit paid in advance for the commission. If work on the commission has commenced, the customer accepts liability for any costs beyond the amount of the deposit.

It is accepted that once a commission order is placed and accepted by Sloyd, the customer is bound by these conditions.

(3) Delivery Costs

I know how expensive postage can be. I review my delivery options on a regular basis in order to try and keep the cost to you as low as possible and ensure that you get the best standard of service. I have been using MyHermes delivery service for UK deliveries and either Royal Mail or P4D courier service for International deliveries. However, following a significant deterioration in the quality of service being provided by MyHermes I am now using Royal Mail for all of my UK deliveries. Cost will be dependent on destination, weight and size of the item, as well as the packaging required.

(4) Delivery tracking

Royal Mail Standard Delivery does not  provide tracking. If you selected a delivery option that does provide tracking and have not received your goods within 14 days of placing your order, please contact me and I will investigate.

(5) International Delivery

International orders will be sent either via Royal Mail or P4D Couriers, depending on weight and size. It is advised that for international orders a delivery option that offers tracking be chosen at check out.  

(6) Delivery confirmation

I will be provided delivery confirmation by the courier. However, I would ask that you contact me via email or phone when you receive your item so that I know that it has been received safely and has not been damaged in transit.

If you live local to my workshop and wish to collect it in person, select 'Workshop Collection' at checkout and contact me to arrange collection. Please not that workshop collections are not possible at present. This is due to the current Covid 19 pandemic.

(7) Returns

If your item is damaged or faulty upon receipt you must notify me within seven days of receiving it so I can arrange a repair or replacement.

You can return a faulty item for a full refund within a seven day period.

I must be notified of the return of an item either by phone, letter or email within seven days of receipt.

(8) Conditions of return

All items must be returned in an unused condition, well packaged and sent using an insured traceable postage method with a copy of the relevant receipt. Return postage will not be refunded if the item is found to be not faulty.

If items are damaged or seem to have been used, I reserve the right to make a charge for the repair.

(9) Product guarantee

My items are guaranteed against faulty workmanship and materials. They are not guaranteed against general wear and tear. However, information is provided with all items on how best to care for them.
