Made from a piece of sycamore that was salvaged from a storm damaged tree near Kelvingrove Park on the Kelvin Walkway, Glasgow in 2015, this board has a chunky but attractive appearance to it. The character of the live edge and wood grain is what makes this piece stand out.

Dimensioned from a 55mm rough sawn slab, the block is left for a few days to settle and allow any tension in the wood to be released. Once dimensioned any bark inclusions or knots are stabilised using a food grade resin which requires 48 hours to cure. Bevels are then handplaned along the bottom edges of each side of the block, this provides gripping ability for lifting. A lot of Sanding follows this then the board is finished with two coats of food safe coconut oil followed by two coats of Sloyd coconut oil beeswax blend polish.
