Horse Chestnut Small Tealight Table Centre
Horse Chestnut Small Tealight Table Centre
An eye catching tealight table centre that will transform the atmosphere in any room. This is a stand out piece, as a result of the contrast between the light coloured wood and the dark, textured bark, that has been retained through seasoning (drying).
Horse chestnut, with its mahogany-bright conkers, is the very essence of autumn. This particular piece of wood came from a tree that was storm damaged in Kelvingrove Park, Glasgow, during Winter 2016.
What makes this piece different is that the bark has remained attached to the wood. Normally as wood dries (seasons) the bark will release and fall off. However, that hasn’t happened with this piece. This is most probably because the wood was harvested in winter, when the sap levels are low in the tree. It makes for a piece that looks and feels more rustic and natural.
It has been finished with two coats of linseed oil followed by two coats of my own linseed oil and beeswax blend polish.
Glass inserts and tealight candles are also provided.
